Shivaji Satam is an Indian actor who has appeared in movies and on television. His best-known performance was as ACP Pradyuman in the detective television series CID.

The Childhood and Schooling of Shivaji Satam

He was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, on April 21, 1950, after attending Antonio D'Souza High School in Byculla, Mumbai, Shivaji Satam enrolled at Barnes High School in Devlali. He graduated from the University of Mumbai with a degree in chemistry. Before going into the movie business, he worked for the Central Bank and had a diploma in business administration.

Shivaji Satam's Profession

Shivaji has acted in many Marathi and Hindi movies. Shivaji first appeared on television in the 1980 serial Rishte Naate. He then made his Bollywood debut in the 1987 movie Pestonjee.

Satam starred in the critically acclaimed film English, August (1994).

He starred in two movies in 1997: Ghulam-E-Musthafa (1997) as Dayanand Dixit and Yeshwant (1997) as a police inspector. His performance in Ghulam-E-Musthafa (1997) earned him a nomination for a Star Screen Award for Best Actor.

But it was the 1998 television series C.I.D. that gave him his big break. The program ran for 20 years.

Additionally, he starred in Split Wide Open (1999), a crime drama.

He portrayed a physician in the Marathi movie Ek Hoti Vadi (2001).

His second Marathi movie, Uttarayan, was out in 2004. De Dhakka (2008), Haapus (2010), De Dhakka 2 (2022), and Bamboo (2023) are his next four Marathi movies.

Shivaji's Winning Awards

Shivaji has won multiple accolades, including as the Gold Award, the Maharashtra State Film Award, and the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award.

His portrayal of ACP Pradyuman earned him the Indian Telly Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2002.
