Shaik Rasheed, a prospective young prodigy from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, has been making waves in the cricket world for his exceptional batting skills.Rasheed's climb to cricket stardom exemplifies his enthusiasm and tenacity.  Despite financial hardships, Rasheed's father supported his cricketing goals, frequently traveling vast distances to ensure Rasheed received top-tier coaching.  Rasheed's effort paid off when he was selected for state age-group teams, and he quickly established himself as Andhra Pradesh's leading run-scorer.

Early Life and Family

Sheikh Rashid was born on September 24, 2004, in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. His father worked as a sales agent for a company in Hyderabad when he was a child. Rashid would be taken to net practice every day, which was 40 kilometers away.Balishawali resigned his job to support his son's career and relocated to Mangalagiri. Rashid was later admitted to the ACA Residential Cricket Academy and began living there.

He was selected Vice-Captain of India's Under-19 team for the 2022 ICC Under-19 World Cup.  His remarkable performance in the semi-finals against Australia, when he scored 94 runs, proved his international potential.  Rasheed became Maharashtra's best run-scorer throughout the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy league stage, cementing his reputation as a formidable batsman.

Rasheed has given nothing short of amazing performances in the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy.  He scored an amazing 203 against Hyderabad, demonstrating his ability to play long innings.  His first-class average is exceptional, with two centuries and seven fifties in only 19 matches.  His best score of 203 came off 372 balls, showcasing his patience and ability at the wicket.

Rasheed's abilities are not restricted to the extended format.  In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored a century off 54 balls against Arunachal Pradesh.  His T20 career averages 29.33 and has a strike rate of 127.07, with one century and one fifty to his name.

IPL Career

Rasheed's talent grabbed the notice of the Chennai Super Kings, who purchased him at a base price of INR 20 lakhs during the 2024 IPL auction.  Rasheed, who is coached by Stephen Fleming and managed by MS Dhoni, is also expected to have great success in the IPL 2025.
