Khaleel Ahmed is a Rajasthan-born international cricketer who now represents the Rajasthan Royals in domestic cricket and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League.He first received opposition from his parents for pursuing cricket. He eventually persuaded them and began practicing with a tennis ball to acquire the fast bowling technique.
Early Life and Family
Khalil was born December 5, 1997, in Tonk, Rajasthan. His father, Khurshid Ahmed, works as a nurse (compounder) in a nearby hamlet and wished for Khaleel to become a doctor. Khaleel is the youngest of four siblings, including three older sisters.
Career
Ahmed made his T20 debut with Rajasthan in the 2016-17 Inter-State Twenty-20 Tournament. Khaleel's performance in the Tri-Nation event was exceptional, with 12 wickets in three innings.
Khaleel's exceptional ability to bowl at fast speeds and swing the ball attracted the attention of Indian U-19 coach Rahul Dravid. He soon entered India's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Khaleel made his first-class debut for Rajasthan in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy in October. The following year, he made his List A debut for Rajasthan in the 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy. His domestic success immediately earned him a spot on India A's tour of England. He ended the tour with 15 wickets in nine games, which drew the attention of the selectors.
